Colin has over 30 years’ experience in the systems engineering and project delivery of complex multidisciplinary infrastructure systems. From 2018 to 2022 he led the technical and engineering teams at Crossrail, accountable for the design, site engineering, testing. systems integration and assurance.
His career started in 1991 with British Rail, leading maintenance teams on the Kent side of the new Channel Tunnel and then in the Midlands. He then held leadership roles on major rail projects followed by stints in other industries including banking, digital TV and IT systems. He then spent ten years as an Engineering Director, first for Westinghouse Rail Systems (now Siemens) and then Thales Transportation.
Since 2010, he has supported international clients with project management and engineering leadership, technical advice, and capability development. This included assignments with major rail projects as well as advisory support to the Royal Navy.
In 2011 he co-founded the charity Wellboring.org which to date has installed over 100 wells in rural community schools across east Africa.
Colin also continues to be actively involved in coaching senior engineering leaders and young graduate engineers alike.
