    Howard Smith is currently Director of London’s brand new Elizabeth line. He studied at the London School of Economics before working in operational railway roles in London. He was involved in planning and operating international rail services through the UK-France Channel Tunnel before joining Transport for London. There, he has lead the significant expansion of light rail, the creation of the orbital London Overground service, the delivery of the Emirates Airline – London’s first cable car, and was one the transport leaders for the London 2012 Olympic Games. From 2013 he was Chief Operating Officer of the Crossrail Project which was renamed the Elizabeth line ahead of its royal opening in May 2022.

    Carole joined the Crossrail Executive in June 2019 as the HSE Director with a focus on inspiring the safe transition through the final phases of the programme. Now the SHEQ Director for Morgan Sindall Infrastructure she has a wealth of senior leadership experience and knowledge from the infrastructure, rail and aviation sectors. She plays a pivotal role in strengthening company health and wellbeing, safety, environmental and quality programmes and standards. Outside work Carole is a keen runner and enjoys a range of outdoor activities.

    William Dennis

    William Dennis - Crossrail Ltd

    William Dennis is a project management professional and senior leader with 11 years’ experience in the delivery of rail infrastructure. As the Head of Stations Closeout, he leads the team responsible for the project delivery of the Crossrail central stations and the Elizabeth Line Closeout Programme which sees the delivery of non-critical residual works. in this role, William has achieved the completion and handover of the Crossrail stations. William started his career in TfL delivering step-free access and cooling upgrades and has been with Crossrail since 2020.
