    Professor Rhys Vaughan Williams FRSA FIET FIMECHE - Crossrail Ltd

    Rhys is a Chartered MEP Engineer, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and both the IET and the IMechE. He has also been appointed as an Honorary Fellow and Visiting Professor to the School of Applied Science, Computing and Engineering at Wrexham Glyndwr University.

    As well as being the subject of major interviews for several Engineering publications, he has conducted many presentations for professional Engineering organisations around the country. With some 35 years professional experience in the Fit-Out of major infrastructure projects across the UK, he specalises in the development, procurement and delivery of the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) works, including Fire Engineering and Lifts & Escalators and as Deputy Chief Engineer, is the Technical Authority for these works on the Crossrail project.

    Simon is Head of Learning Legacy at Crossrail. A Civil Engineer, Transport Planner and Communications professional, he worked on the original 1990s Crossrail scheme for London Underground and in 2000 was seconded from TfL to Cross London Rail Links to work on developing the project and securing powers. He led the Consultation team which became the Petitions Negotiation team during the Bill process. During the construction phase he has been Head of Stakeholder Engagement and then Programme Community Relations Manager.

    In 2015, Simon was appointed to lead the team responsible for the collation and dissemination of good practice, innovation and lessons learned from the Crossrail construction programme aimed at raising the bar in industry and showcasing UK PLC.

    Chris Binns has worked on the Crossrail project since July 2015.  He is the Chief Engineer for the Crossrail Programme providing engineering technical leadership through a team of Heads of Disciplines, and Managers of Engineering.     As the Crossrail engineering technical authority, Chris provides leadership of the engineering function including Rail Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Systems, Architecture and Civil Engineering.   The engineering function, through the Technical Assurance Plan, assures that the Crossrail project delivers a Safe, Operable, Maintainable and high-Performing Railway in accordance with the Sponsor’s requirements.

    Chris was previously the Head of Engineering for Network Rail’s Thameslink Programme from 2008 until July 2015 delivering technical assurance of the upgrade of the North – South interconnection through London.

    Dr Fathi Tarada is the founder and managing director of Mosen Ltd, an engineering consultancy. He is qualified in engineering, management and law and is a leading expert in fire safety engineering, tunnel ventilation and Computational Fluid Dynamics. Fathi is the inventor of the MoJet® ventilation system, a patented energy-efficient device that has been installed in tunnels worldwide. He represents the United Kingdom at the Technical Committee on Road Tunnel Operations for the World Road Association (PIARC), and was awarded a medal for Construction Health & Safety by the Institution of Civil Engineers.
